Our souls are preserved forever in our photographs. Our loved ones will someday have only a photograph to re-experience the love they have for us. I have photographs of loved ones that make me cry, help me tovernport stay alive, make me laugh, and some even give me reason to be. Being able to capture a person in a photograph is a blessing. did a modern person, who was never photographed, ever exist? Their photograph makes them immortal. Making photographic images has been a part of my life for over forty years. Documenting the world is my passion.

The photographic image allows me to rejoice or cry, hate or even love someone that I might never have known. Photographs help me see everything that is good with the world and everything that is bad. Some believe that we are at the mercy of the image-makers viewpoint. But the reality of what happened when I wasn’t there is preserved through photographs, real or not, photographs create their own reality.

I capture images, seeing things, people and places all help me understand whom I am, and who others are. I might not experience an event taking place in the world first hand, but I do experience and are moved by an image of an event taking place in some faraway place. Photography defines what and who we love and like, as well as who and what we dislike. Realistically or not, images make us who we are in other people’s eyes, who they are in our eyes, and ultimately helps to define our culture and more importantly, our being.
